KEEP THE ADVENT FAST!

It is easy to dismiss the Advent Fast in the midst of a swirl of Christmas parties, sweets, and festivities, but it is the greatest fast to participate in of the year, because our moderation and simplicity is a testimony to the true meaning of the Christmas season. Abstaining from red meat, sweets, and alcohol, while giving to the poor, helps us to be like Christ and to incarnate His works in the world as His Body, the Church. In keeping Advent, we bring Christ into the world, and participate in the Holy Mystery of Christmas!
