A Chinese Orthodox Icon of the Resurrection of Christ

I)

In the beginning, the Holy Word came down among us,

Light entering the depths of darkness.

He willingly bore the suffering of the world,

Opening a path of life through every barrier.

II)

Branches were lifted, and the people rejoiced,

“Hosanna” echoing through the city.

Yet in a moment, shadows gathered in secret -

For thirty pieces of silver, the Truth was betrayed.

III)

At the table, He broke the bread and shared the cup,

Giving a new commandment of love.

In the cold garden beneath the silent moon,

His sweat fell like blood - yet He chose the Father’s will.

IV)

In the court, the crowd roared like a storm,

A crown of thorns pressed upon His head.

Lifted high upon the Cross between heaven and earth,

The sun grew dark, and all creation mourned.

V)

His sacred blood poured out to cleanse all sin,

His body laid within the sealed tomb.

In stillness He rested through the silent days,

While the depths of death awaited their King.

VI)

Then the Lord descended into the hidden realm,

Shattering chains, breaking open the gates.

The ancient ones rose in wonder and joy -

The dead awakened, and all things were made new.

VII)

At dawn, the long night was suddenly broken,

The stone rolled away - the tomb filled with light.

The angel declared: “He is risen!”

By death He has conquered death forever.

VIII)

The disciples trembled, then were filled with joy,

As He came among them, speaking peace.

In the breaking of bread, their eyes were opened - 

The gift of life now flowing through all ages.

IX)

After forty days, He was lifted in glory,

Ascending through the clouds to the Highest.

Seated at the right hand of the Father in power,

He fills all things and draws all nations to Himself.

X)

The holy flame is passed, and it never fades,

Its light shining across the whole earth.

All nations lift their voices in victory - 

Glory forever to the Risen King.

太初聖道降塵寰，

光入幽冥破夜寒。

甘就人間諸苦難，

為開生路越重關。

二)

棕枝初舉萬民迎，

和散之聲滿帝城。

轉瞬陰謀起暗處，

銀錢三十負真靈。

三)

香筵既設餅杯分，

愛命新頒洗足恩。

孤園月冷汗如血，

天父旨成心自存。

四)

審庭群眾聲如沸，

荊冕加頭紫袍衣。

十字高懸天地震，

日昏石裂萬靈悲。

五)

寶血流時洗罪愆，

聖身既葬石門前。

寂寂安眠三日內，

陰府幽關待主權。

六)

大君下臨幽暗域，

鐵鎖崩摧獄門開。

祖靈欣躍出塵網，

死者逢生萬象回。

七)

黎明忽破長宵盡，

石輥空墳耀聖光。

天使報言主已起，

死權踐滅永無疆。

八)

門徒初疑復且喜，

顯現和平息懼心。

擘餅之時方認主，

生命新恩遍古今。

九)

四十日滿升天闕，

雲裡榮光御至尊。

右坐全能真父側，

充滿乾坤化萬民。

十)

聖火相傳光不滅，

普照寰宇散幽冥。

萬國同聲稱主勝，

永世榮歸復活君。
